Browser Support

Supported Browsers

We support the latest version of the following browsers:

Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera.

Other Current Browsers

The site should work well on any modern browser. Many mobiles use a browser based on WebKit, which should be fine. Please note the iPhone's default Web browser does not allow the uploading of files and photos. Strange one, that.

Older Browsers

Amiplaying displays correctly in Internet Explorer 8. Internet Explorer 7 is a different story. Whilst the site will function in the browser, some pages are not displayed correctly. We will look at this as time allows, but it is not a high priority for us. In our testing both of these browsers have serious performance problems when it comes to JavaScript. We recommend upgrading to Internet Explorer 9+ or choose a different brand of browser. Recent versions of the other supported browsers should work without a hitch.

Legacy Browsers (a.k.a. Internet Explorer 6)

Internet Explorer 6 is not supported. Whilst we recognise your right to use a browser over 11 years old, we have a right to not support it, given our limited resources. Even Microsoft will be pleased to see the back of it. They've set up the Internet Explorer 6 Countdown Web site in an effort to move the world off this outdated version. Modern browsers, most of which are free, allow us to provide a much better graphical user interface and take some of the load off our servers.

In addition you may be putting yourself at risk using a legacy browser: if the security of Google was compromised due to people running IE6, then your security is at risk too. Upgrading after a hacker uses an exploit to steal your information is like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

JavaScript

This Web site requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser. JavaScript is a programming language used to make web pages interactive. It runs on your computer and takes some of the load off our servers whilst giving you a rich graphical user interface.

Cookies

Cookies need to be enabled in your browser in order for you to use Amiplaying. We use cookies to track your registration if you are referred to Amiplaying from one of our affiliates, to keep track of your session once you've logged in and to store your language preferences for the next time you visit the site. We also use Google Analytics to analyse Web based traffic to our site and identify which pages are being used. Google Analytics uses cookies in order to provide meaningful reports about our site visitors. Google Analytics does not collect your personal data. For more information visit Cookies & Google Analytics.

Third Party Cookies

Some of our pages reference Google Maps, YouTube, ReCaptcha and other sites. These sites may make use of so called 'third party' cookies, however Amiplaying will work if you choose to disable third party cookies.
